Article Versions And Revisions

Articles in Helpjuice follow a clear hierarchy: Article > Version > Revisions.

Versions allow you to create different variations of an article, while Revisions track changes within the same version. Every time you update an article, a new Revision is created within the current Version.

Revisions

Every time an article is autosaved, saved as a draft, or published, a new Revision is created within the same Version. To access the Revision History section where all revisions are stored, follow these steps:

  • Open your article
  • Click on […] More > Revision History

  • Open your article
  • Click on the […] More on the left side menu > Revision History
 
 

Comparing Revisions

You can compare the last saved Revision with a previous one, but only within the same Version. You cannot compare revisions between different versions of an article.

To compare the revisions, simply access one from the list and click the Compare with Current Revision button.

You can restore an old revision by accessing it and clicking on Make Current Revision.

You can see revisions from other Versions by switching to it in the Versions dropdown:

Versions

A Version represents a separate variation of an article. You can create as many Versions as needed, each with its own set of Revisions. To create a new Version, follow these steps:

New Editor

  • Open your article
  • Click on the Status Manager on the top right corner > + New Version

If you edit a published Version, a new draft Version will be created to track those changes before publishing.

 
 

Legacy Editor

  • Open your article
  • Click on the Versions button on the left side menu > Add New Version
 
 

Each Version has its own URL and does not overwrite previous Versions.

How to Access a Published Version

  • The main article URL (yoursubdomain.com/article) will always display the default published Version.
  • Other published Versions remain accessible via their direct URLs (e.g., yoursubdomain.com/article/version/2).

FYI If multiple Versions are published, the last one published will be the default shown at yoursubdomain.com/article.

Republishing an older Version will make it the new default version.
