Theme Overview

This guide provides an overview of how Helpjuice themes are structured. It breaks down the main sections, the types of pages included, and what’s customizable — so you can better understand how to tailor your Knowledge Base to your needs.

User Toolbar

Typically includes the current user’s avatar along with quick access to the Dashboard, Activities, and the Customization area.

Usually features the company logo and links to key Knowledge Base sections, such as the Contact Page and Language Switcher.

Hero

This is the central search area. The background often features product visuals or branding imagery that reflects your company identity.

Often mirrors the marketing site’s footer. In some cases, it may include additional links to special categories or articles within the Knowledge Base.

Side Panels

  • Left-hand side: Commonly displays the sitemap for easier navigation.
  • Right-hand side: On Article Pages, it typically includes the Table of Contents.

Special Article Sections

Frequently featured at the bottom or within the Home Page:

  • Popular Articles
  • Followed Articles
  • Recently Updated or Published Articles

Theme Pages

Home Page

Displays top-level categories and articles placed directly under the Dashboard. May also include dynamic sections like Popular Articles or Recently Updated Articles.

Category Page

Shows a list of subcategories and articles under the current category. Some themes also include a side panel for navigating within the category or across the Knowledge Base.

Article Page

The core of your Knowledge Base. This page includes:

  • The article content
  • Table of Contents
  • Related Articles
  • Voting (Helpful/Not Helpful)
  • Feedback form
  • Article metadata
  • And more

Other Pages

Less commonly used, but still part of the theme:

  • Contact Page: A form users can fill out to contact your support team (based on destination settings).
  • Thanks Page: Appears after a user submits the contact form.
  • Author Page: Displays information about content authors and the articles they’ve created or updated.

Not Included in Theme Customization

Helpjuice Widgets

Swifty Widgets are not part of the theme and cannot be customized within this project.

Email Communication

While things like notifications and invites may be editable, they fall outside the scope of the theme customization.
