Setting Up a Custom Domain for Your Knowledge Base
Configuring Your Helpjuice Knowledge Base with a Custom Domain
To use a custom domain for your knowledge base instead of the default help.helpjuice.com address, you'll need to update your DNS records and configure the settings properly.
Custom domains allow you to use addresses like help.example.com instead of the default subdomain.helpjuice.com
Setting Up Your Custom Domain
Follow these steps to configure your custom domain:
- Access your DNS provider's settings
- Create a new CNAME record with these values:
- Name/Host: Your desired subdomain (e.g., "help")
- Type: CNAME
- Value/Target: Your current helpjuice subdomain
Do not upload SSL certificates manually. SSL certificates are automatically provisioned and renewed through Let's Encrypt for all custom domains.
After DNS Configuration
Once you've updated your DNS records:
- Navigate to your knowledge base settings
- Update your domain settings to reflect the new custom domain
- Wait for DNS propagation (can take up to 48 hours)
Your knowledge base will automatically handle SSL certification and renewal through Let's Encrypt, ensuring your custom domain remains secure.
